Hemp render, travertine, Moroccan terracotta, goat's hair,
eggplant and pistachio venetian plaster

The exquisite palette of materials, colours, textures and accents uniquely responds to the client’s brief without relying on a conventional vernacular and the result is completely unexpected, while still being restrained and elegant. A sculptural aesthetic defines the overall scheme and there’s also a clear relationship to the exterior, resulting in a seamless integration between inside and out.

Two real-estate market conventions were flipped. Separate master bedrooms with en-suites for the owners feature subtle inclusions of custom work stations (for ‘her,’ an adaptive make-up vanity/desk with cattle horn handles), ensuring optimum use throughout the day, whilst enabling respite from shared night duties with the baby. Tonally, they re-iterate the shades below with more saturated intensity (deep eucalypt green hand-etched walls for ‘him’ / powdery plum tones with licorice joinery for her). ‘His’ bedroom was darkened to enhance the impressive sea views. Rather than fade the walls as is the custom, they instead frame and enhance the views.
